MANAGEMENT TEAM 

The management leadership of LIAP and its affiliates is comprised of the following professionals: 

 Jeffrey C. Rubenstein, M.D. – Managing Partner

 Jeffrey Rubenstein joined the practice in 2003 and is a Board Certified Anesthesiologist and the Chief Executive Officer. Dr. Rubenstein completed his Anesthesia Residency at Harvard University Brigham and Women’s Hospital following his surgical internship at Harvard University Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He is a Summa Cum Laude graduate from The George Washington University School of Medicine. Dr. Rubenstein is a member of the American, New York State and Suffolk County Societies of Anesthesiologists, the Medical Society of the State of New York and Suffolk County MedicalSociety.

Thomas M. Cottone, M.D. – Chief Financial Officer

Thomas Cottone joined the practice in 2002 and is a Board Certified Anesthesiologist and the Chief Financial Officer. Dr. Cottone completed his Anesthesia Residency, as Chief Resident, at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York following his Internship at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New York. He received his medical degree from the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. Dr. Cottone is a member of the American, New York State and Suffolk County Societies of Anesthesiologists, having held executive leadership positions including President of the latter.

Derick T. George, M.D., M.B.A. – Director of Anesthesia Services

Derick George, is a Board Certified Anesthesiologist and Founding Member. He is the Director of Anesthesia Services at all LIAP hospitals. Dr. George was a Neurosurgical Anesthesia Research Fellow at Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons, completed his Residency in Anesthesiology and Internship in General Surgery at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York, and received his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine.  In 2014, Dr. George received his Master of Business Administration from Adelphi University. He is a member of the American, New York State and Suffolk County Societies of Anesthesiologists, the American Medical Association, the National Medical Association, and the Medical Society of the State of NewYork.

Christine M. Ruggiero, M.D. – Assistant Managing Partner & Compliance Officer

Christine Ruggiero is a Board Certified Anesthesiologist and joined the practice in 2006 .  Dr. Ruggiero completed her anesthesia residency at Yale New Haven Hospital and is a graduate of Albany Medical College.

Howard A. Lasner, M.D. – Managing Committee Member

Howard Lasner joined LIAP in 2006 and is also Board Certified in Anesthesiology. Dr. Lasner received his medical degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and completed his residency in anesthesia at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center.

John H. Von Lintig, C.P.A., C.G.M.A. – Chief Operating Officer

John Von Lintig joined the practice in 2013 and serves as Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Von Lintig is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of New York and a Chartered Global Management Accountant. He has more than 30 years of business experience formerly serving as the Chief Operating and/or Financial Officer of several medical and commercial organizations as well as a Partner of the international accounting firm of Deloitte LLP. A Cum Laude graduate of the University of Miami, Florida with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting, Mr. Von Lintig is a member of the Medical Group Management Association, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.  He is also a licensed real estate broker in the State of New York and a member of the National Association of Realtors and New York State Society of Realtors.

Michael Marturiello, MBA, CSSBB – Controller

Michael Marturiello has over 18 years of Finance, Accounting and Revenue Cycle Management experience.  Mr. Marturiello has served in various Senior Leadership roles thus far in his career.  Michael has led not only numerous physician owned firms, but also has served as Senior Leadership at managed care companies such as Affinity Health Plans and the Centene Corporation (previously, Fidelis Care). Michael has also served in a key leadership at the NYU School of Medicine on the Financial services side of the business.

Michael graduated with his BA in Finance from St. Joseph’s College and possesses a Masters of Business Administration from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.  In addition, Michael attained his Certified Six Sigma Black Belt status while performing his leadership role during his tenure at NYU.
